PARO STORE

Amsterdam-based e-commerce platform spotlighting emerging designers who prioritise good design that's good for the world. Co-founded 2018–2022.

PARO STORE is a curated e-commerce platform co-founded in 2019, built to bridge the gap between independent designers who prioritise ethical production and a global audience looking for an alternative to trend-driven fashion.

As Co-founder, I was responsible for the commercial architecture of the platform brand selection, wholesale strategy, supplier onboarding, and the sustainable framework that defined how PARO chose brands. Every designer on the platform was assessed against a set of criteria that weighted supply chain transparency, material integrity, and production ethics alongside design quality.

Beyond the retail platform, PARO gave me direct working relationships with the emerging generation of sustainable designers. That network, and the technical understanding of how small brands actually operate, directly informs how I approach sustainability strategy at a corporate level.

Understanding the gap between what responsible production looks like at maker scale and what it looks like on a brand's ESG slide deck is one of the more useful things I can bring to this work.
